HYDERABAD: Our Chief Minister is really 'landed'. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy made the stunning disclosure on Monday in the Assembly that his family and he owns another 1,000 acres. This is over and above the land he has in Idupulapaya estate in his home territory and which raised a controversy last week.

"I not only have 614 acres at Idupulapaya estate in Vempalli mandal. I also have another 1,000 acres in Kundur village in Rajampet between Renugunta and Kadapa town in Kadapa district. This land is unregistered, and was bought by my father (Y S Raja Reddy) as he was interested in growing trees and creating a green belt," the chief minister said during his intervention in a debate regarding the controversy about illegal occupation of assigned land. Interestingly, the CM revised the quantum of land that his family possesses in Idupulapaya. Last week, it was around 715 acres.

Of the 310.57 acres that the Rajasekhara Reddy family surrendered from the Idupulapaya estate, assigned land comprises 50.76 acres, panchayati raj wasteland is 69.33 acres, temple land is 6.94 acres, rasta poramboke (land kept aside for road constuction) land is 7.86 acres and panchayati raj tank land comprises 45.52 acres and 123 acres is patta land, the chief minister declared, reeling off the detailed statistics.

Apart from all these, the CM said he owns another 120-140 acres in Kadapa and that he was ready to surrender that too in order to take forward his 'Bhoodan yagnam.' The land possessed by him was non-agricultural and that he had a court confirmation to that effect, he added.

Replying to charges that a compound wall was being constructed at the YS Estate at Idupulapaya, YSR said a compound wall is under construction for the last six years and that it would take another two years for it to be completed. "The terrain is such. The wall became necessary to protect the trees from pigs which are a menace in that area," he explained.

Quoting rules, the CM maintained that no penal action can be initiated against him as he had surrendered the 310.57 acres on his own.

The opposition, however, including the TDP, the CPM, TRS and BJP, said the exemption charges quoted by YSR was applicable to officers only and that he should resign and face prosecution.

On the other hand, Sharmila has acute mind, she can talk eloquently for hours, cases emi levu, she works hard. She has support of TG and KA Congress Govts. Her husband can shift Christian votes from YCP to Congress. No one likes a declining politician.

Prime example, monnati varaku Reddys lo kontha mandhi Revanth ni chala hate chesetollu. Jagan ni vipareetham ga like chesaaru, enthavaraku ante..Revanth Vs KCR vacchinappudu KCR ni vipareetham ga support chesthu. Now, they started liking Revanth more.

It was just an analogy

not a true comparison 

What ever said and done 

YSR fans will stick to Jagan as he is the best bet for them at least in foreseeable future 

Revanth has other reasons to elevate YSR, ofcourse to appease fans and caste fanatics

The whole idea is to own YSR and pull the legacy away from Jagan. The apara chanikya Baboru also is happily aiding this process. His benami sishya  Revantham is also taking YSR's name for the same reason. Sharmila is kept in Congress for the same purpose.
