No country can be democratic and Islamic simultaneously. In any Islamic country, when the government there starts promoting democracy, then the army of that country takes over the governance of the country. 
For example, after Imran Khan in Pakistan, the condition of Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh is in front of everyone.
