As far as asylum, 2 years back F1 telugu student claimed that his father is TDP worker and his family is under threat by AP govt. Got EAD and court date in 2027 is what I heard from my friends in DFW area.

Telugus (very small amount) who do this are unpad/uneducated youth from rural TG areas such as jagityala/ adilabad. If  they can pay bit more commission to agent, they will tie up with north agents and route this people via notthies. Mostly Europe ki they used to send until 2015. I used to share the apartment with those folks way back in 2012-13 back in Europe with them. Some people do end up getting their work permits/citizenships now.
