This is going on for generations in the south India … it is frowned upon in the west now but they used to marry their uncles (chinnanna, chinnanna koduku etc) in the old times in the west.. 

Even though we inbred a lot, we hardly see people with mental retardness in the south.. but in the west, we see a lot of people with mental issues…

But manollu ante, if you are talking about Telugu people, then evvar kuda aa pissfuls chesthunna chandalam cheyaru, manollu evadi pani vadidhi. Hardly creates nuisance for others.

Cousin marriages lo problems ki chances takkuva but still not good ,even lokesh married his cousin.
