There is a whole ecosystem around sports like any other profession. India lo medal vachi govt isthe tappa no food. Schools lo kuda private companies sponsorships ravali

Anna, it’s culture also. If it was just money then mana ABCD kids should start coming out  in sports here. Ekkada unnaru? Manam antha kids only math/science meda focus. Majority telugu ABCD kids aiyte sarriga bench press, pushups, pull ups koda cheya leru. Majority of them never had money issue and are from good families.

Culture unte saripodu genes kuda undali,mana kids bane participate chestunaru but we don't have the build to compete with others may be down the lane we'll catch up
