విదేశాలలో మంకీపాక్స్ కేసులు వేగంగా పెరుగుతుండడం, పొరుగున ఉన్న పాకిస్థాన్ లోనూ పలువురికి వైరస్ సోకడంతో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అప్రమత్తమైంది. ఎయిర్ పోర్టులు, దేశ సరిహద్దుల వద్ద అలర్ట్ ప్రకటించింది. వైరస్ మన దేశంలోకి ప్రవేశించకుండా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకోవాలని అధికారులకు సూచిస్తూ మార్గదర్శకాలు విడుదల చేసింది. విదేశాల నుంచి వచ్చే వారిలో ఎంపాక్స్ లక్షణాలు కనిపిస్తే వెంటనే క్వారెంటైన్ చేయాలని పేర్కొంది. ఈమేరకు ఢిల్లీలోని రామ్ మనోహర్ లోహియా హాస్పిటల్, సఫ్దర్ జంగ్ హాస్పిటల్, లేడీ హార్దింగ్ హాస్పిటల్ లో మంకీపాక్స్ బాధితుల కోసం ప్రత్యేక ఏర్పాట్లు చేసినట్లు తెలిపింది. బాధితులను క్వారెంటైన్ చేయడానికి, చికిత్స సదుపాయాలకు ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. అదేవిధంగా వైరస్ నిర్ధారణ పరీక్షల కోసం దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 32 ల్యాబ్ లలో అవసరమైన సదుపాయాలను అందుబాటులో ఉంచినట్లు వెల్లడించింది.

2022 నుంచి నేటి వరకు మన దేశంలో 30 మంకీపాక్స్ కేసులు నమోదయ్యాయి. అయితే, తాజాగా విదేశాలలో విస్తరిస్తున్న వేరియంట్ కేసులు మాత్రం ఇప్పటి వరకూ నమోదు కాలేదు. దీంతో అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండాలని రాష్ట్రాలు, కేంద్ర పాలిత ప్రాంతాల ప్రభుత్వాలను కేంద్రం ఆదేశించింది. వైరస్ బాధితులను గుర్తించిన సందర్భాలలో చికిత్స కోసం ఆసుపత్రులలో ఏర్పాట్లు చేయాలని సూచించింది. కాగా, తొలినాళ్లలో ఆఫ్రికా ఖండానికే పరిమితమైన మంకీపాక్స్ వైరస్ తాజాగా ప్రపంచంలోని పలు దేశాలకు విస్తరించిందని ప్రపంచ ఆరోగ్య సంస్థ (డబ్ల్యూహెచ్ వో) వెల్లడించింది. వైరస్ లో జన్యుపరివర్తనాల కారణంగా చాలా మార్పులు చోటుచేసుకున్నాయని, దీంతో వ్యాప్తి చాలా ఎక్కువగా ఉందని తెలిపింది. మంకీపాక్స్ ను గ్లోబల్ పాండెమిక్ గా ప్రకటిస్తూ ప్రపంచ దేశాలను అప్రమత్తం చేసింది.
