Bezawada Vs 'Kanakadurga Mukku Pudaka'

Ages ago, it is believed that in ‘Brahmam Gari Kalagyanam’, the world will come to an end when the Krishna river will rise and touch the nose ring of Vijayawada Kanakadurga atop the Indrakeeladri mountain.

Given the fact that most of his prophecies have turned out to be true, many are saying even this will become true.

In fact, many felt that such a situation had come in the recent past. Post the death of YSR, there was heavy floods situation and even the Srisailam reservoir was overflowing. However, it didn’t happen. Again, with ‘Jal’ cyclone coming into the picture, the fear was high but even that crossed without any damage.

Now, with the 2012 syndrome making rounds, the people of Vijayawada are in full fear that his prophecy will come true and the day is not far when Durgamma’s Mukku Pudaka will be touched by the waters of Krishna. So far, it has become a battle of faith vs prediction. Only time will tell who was right…
