Is entry record stamp on passport mandatory ?

During my recent travel into US. the immigration officer forgot to put a stamp in my passport & returned the passport back to me. 
I was travelling with my kid & didn't verified at that time.. 
Later when I checked my passport, I don't see the stamp.. but I checked the i-94 record online.. I can see the details of recent entry ?

 

Do I have to worry about the stamp ?

No more stamps on passport. I-94 gets updated online.

Last 2 years lo.. 3 times vella.. 
Last 2 times.. they put a stamp on my passport.. but this time was different.

Maybe you entered US through a smaller intl airport. Big airports lo long time ago itself they eliminated entry stamps.

Yes, changed last year. All major airports lo last year nundi vundi./ Ee year anni POE's ki ichesaru...
