Hitman Posted September 17, 2024 Report Posted September 17, 2024 Google Gemini says... Run-flat tires and regular tires have different advantages and disadvantages, including: Cost Run-flat tires can cost 35–200% more than regular tires, ranging from $150–$500 per tire. Availability Run-flat tires are often only available as original equipment tires for new cars, and can be difficult to find as replacements. Equipment Most vehicles with run-flat tires don't come with a spare tire or tire-changing equipment. Tire pressure monitoring Run-flat tires need to be used with tire pressure monitoring systems because they don't look different when they're low on air. Repairs Run-flat tires can't be repaired. Ride quality Regular tires are generally quieter and smoother than run-flat tires because of their softer sidewalls. Tread life Regular tires usually last longer than run-flat tires. Punctures Run-flat tires can be driven on for up to 50 miles at 50 mph after a puncture, while regular tires can blow out. Run-flat tires are more stable than regular tires when they lose air, helping drivers maintain control. Which one to choose ?? Quote

Michelin, continental, bridgestone and yokohama makes great tires. I ditched runflats and using Michelin ps as4 and conti dws 06 for my two cars, they're really good! check tirerack for reviews and guidance 1 Quote

Took the risk and changed to regular Bridgestone tires. After 60k miles since the change....still running like a champ. Better suspension due to soft sidewalls. Only risk is, no spare tire to rely on. Regular lo bridgestone ni beat chesedi ledu...in terms of durability. 1 Quote
