As part of the restructuring, the tech giant is eliminating 58 positions at its San Francisco office and 54 roles at its Silicon Valley Lab in San Jose, according to regulatory filings. 

ibm is not big tech, it is boomer tech

Lot of hiring in India at LT level, my cousin got job in Mumbai with 15 years exp 88L package buffalo 🐃

Calling everyone buffalo looks like runs in your family.  Someone shared reference of layoff. You are making assumptions based on anecdotal evidence. You should have nerve calling them buffalo.

Light teesuko kaka.. IBM layoffs people every year ir-respective of market situation.  We used to call them a big train where people will be onboarding and off boarding..

Brother in law works there and this is what he said

 

Previously layoffs used to be in orgs that were scrapped 

It was very difficult to get fired from IBM even with very bad perf

 

After Arvind took over , they are targeting lot of ppl with higher salary irrespective of perf

 

Moving jobs to Kochi

With abundance of resources being available.. highly paid resources will be laid off .. that will be new trend in every IT company

Normal ee kada Kaka.. if the same work can be done by other person for lower salary the priority goes to them... also IBM is not quoting atrociously now like in old days due to heavy competition...

Healthcare/hospitals/smaller banks who don’t have operations/development centers in India.
