Soap is still ok anna. Most of the good restaurants give you wine recommendations attached to food anyway like steak with wine of some vintage and pizza with something else etc, not each of them is served in the same type of flute. Red wines like merlot get flutes with a broader base and sparkling whites get long stemmed etc. Peat whiskeys get flat round glasses and sweet flowery ones get crystallized.. Adho vere prapancham anna.

I once picked up a bottle with a cool story behind it, and it was a hit. Something aged well, smooth, and not overly smoky works great for most people I know.

I once paired a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 with Custom 3d Printed Action Figures based on our old college group for my friend's birthday. It added a funny and personal touch along with the classy drink. Everyone talked more about the figures than the whiskey, which says something. If the person’s into pop culture or has a good sense of humor, this kind of combo really stands out.
