Baboru weakend BJP's growth in Andhra deliberately, as BJP growth will cost TDP. Congress has been traditionally strong in Andhra, but all that voters loyalty shifted to Jagan and stood fast with him since creation of Telangana. All the new generation voters in their 20s, 30s saw how Congress bifurcates the state, Jagan was only guy to stay steadfast in UNITED ANDHRA stance, will not vote for Congress. 

BJP will try to keep Jagan on their side for the same reason.  Leaving NDA on special status was Baboru's own doing. Baboru knows that TG was a done deal, instead of demanding that special status became a law during the TG bill in Parliament, TDP MPs and Congress MPs did needless hungama end result was worst. Andhra is a small state now and will never command the same political power it once had. Same with Telangana. Thank Congress for that.

Now, Baboru is trying to prop up same Congress using Sharmila to counter Jagan.
