Thokkalee Posted October 20, 2024 Report Posted October 20, 2024 All major castes like Kamma, Kapu and reddy were mostly tax collectors (munusab, etc) in some or the other areas.. kammas and kapus were mostly farmers… in the four varnas, they all belong to sudras… the roles varied from region to region depending on their dominance there.. for eg, in north coastal andhra, Reddys were very very few and I doubt they had any role in the society Quote
Teluguredu Posted October 20, 2024 Report Posted October 20, 2024 Choudhari roughly means owner of 4 sides.it is given to land owners under muslim rule.it is mostly used by people under extensive muslim rule like jaats in harayana and west U.P,some Brahmins in gangetic plains .and few velama doras and reddies in tg used it. Coastal Andhra lo mostly it is used just as a naam ke vaast title by 95% of the people to differentiate themselves from others. Quote
