Tamil people are more aware about their language ,an average tamil person is much aware that they are different from north indians ,this is mostly due to early DMK leaders creating a strong boundary between tamils and indo-aryans including Brahmins in their own state.

Since when did 2000 years became recent? Hinduism is that connection. India has always been a wanted place for Moslems, Christian Europeans. Tamils are not a monolithic entity. What you mean they differentiate Brahmins and North Indians? Talking of Brahmins, who is Jayalalitha then? How was she accepted as a Tamil leader? Why did Thevara and gounders side with her? Admk is a bastardised version of DMK with zero originality,the party itself has been created due to ego clashes ,only reason admk exists in T.N is because it's better than national parties out there.

It's a distinction between cultures individuals don't matter  ,there are many Brahmins T.N who support Dravidian ideology .

Also after merging into this shithole country the amount of sanskrit in telugu has increased substantially because of mass media using more sanskrit words than telugu words and it being more accessible to common people.

Saying india should be a nation because of Hinduism like like saying entire middle east and Europe should be single nations because of Islam and Christianity.
