Overall 12 years of experience. Couple of years down due to health issues and average performance did not let me grow to higher positions. Still working as PM level1. And there is no scope to grow further in current org.

Have held multiple positions operations lead, data engineer, java developer,  cloud migration. Like jack of all trades. I feel like I never have a proper career path.

Please advise further how to choose next position. Goal is to become director in next 5 years.

First, there has to be an opportunity within the org.

Next, you need to figure out what kind of org is yours. What kind of skill sets are revered? More technical or handling people skills, plus Marketing skills (Need to sell IT ideas, tools to your business), presentation skills (to executives). You need to stop talking technical language and start talking a language that the business understands. Learn all the new executive technical jargon.

Its a journey which has to happen organically. Your determination, work ethic, motivation will take it a long way.

Start by looking at the areas in your organization where there is a need of a position and if you like it. Start working towards it.

Thanks bro.. I was determined and moving towards better but the office politics eating me. It is not like this before. Not sure if it happens as we grow higher levels. It was way easier being a developer.

Politics are there everywhere. You have to learn to deal with them. Otherwise you are not cut out to go up the ladder. Space undadu, space chesukovali.
These politics are not specific to your workplace. They are everywhere in one or the other form

I found shrm membership really helpful when I was trying to figure things out in HR. They’ve got templates, learning stuff, and forums where you can ask questions or just see what others are doing. Helped me understand how companies tackle real situations and gave me some direction on what skills to focus on.

I switched from testing to data analysis recently, and spending time on SQL and Power BI helped a lot. Try making some small personal projects to explain in your interviews.

ee power BI ki edina training videos unnya bro?
