Ghengis "Khan" is not Moslem. Khan means a tribe's chief/commander. It's a title like say "Naidoo".  When turkic origin Khans converted to Islam, "Khan" has become a Moslem name. It's more of appropriation. Not all Khans are Mongols and certainly not all Khans are commanders.

Most of the Muslims in India have origin only in India. Their forefathers simply converted and took up Muslim titles. Only few Asharafs have Middle eastern blood and thus claim lineage
