I booked directly with the hotel and found it cheaper than third-party sites. If you're planning another trip outside Thailand, I had a good experience with accor hotels in perth — clean rooms, good service, and they sometimes offer decent discounts on their site. For Phuket, I ended up picking a place close to Patong Beach since most nightlife is nearby and easy to access by tuk-tuk or walk.
