If you listen to JD Vance interview they both are favorable of solar energy, not wind energy because of lack of efficiency in power generation

Trump's second-term plan, outlined in Agenda 47, emphasizes reversing Biden administration policies that support renewable energy, electrification and energy efficiency and advancing policies for additional fossil fuel development. The Trump campaign said such efforts will reduce energy and electricity costs, lower inflation and create millions of jobs.

Two people are running in a race, what EV is expecting the Government to do is stop one person from running so that they can get ahead in the race. In other words, he is not going to give incentives to make EV more efficient. The onus is on them to make it as efficient as fossil fuels.
