dont buy PHEV at all

its a combination of all bad of gas cars and all bad of EV cars

vunte atu vundu ledha itu vundu

endi vayya PHEV meeda anta negativity? can you please elaborate?  I thought PHEV justifies more for your $ because for daily commute you can use full EV (feel good factor for Go Green guys) and long drives you can use Hybrid or Gas.

for long drives you are carrying dead weight. not fuel efficient when doing longer trips without charging.

PHEV and Hybrid is different annai.

PHEVs have larger batteries than hybrids, allowing them to travel greater distances on electric power alone.

Ok. Got it.

For local - we can use PHEV on Pure EV mode. - Satisfies the Go Green mentality

for Long drives - Use the ICE mode.

in this case , isn't it PHEV good ? 1 shot 2 birds right?

cars are not investment to worry about depreciation. You buy something you like based on your income level and enjoy what it offers. If you can’t afford a premium new buy lightly used with all the options specced and let the previous owner eat the depreciation

fuel efficient kaadu vayya dead weight carry chestunnav ante malla 1 shot 2 birds right ani ade question.

The fuel efficiency and range on a full tank for the 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV and the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid are as follows:

Mazda CX-90 PHEV

  • Combined MPG (gasoline mode): 25
    1
    4
  • All-Electric Range: 26 miles
    1
    4
  • Fuel Economy Equivalent: 56 MPGe in electric mode
    1
  • Total Range: About 490 miles (combined electric and gasoline)
    6

Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid

  • Combined MPG: 36 (front-wheel drive), ~34 (all-wheel drive)
    3
  • EPA-estimated range: Not explicitly stated, but likely around 500-550 miles based on fuel efficiency and typical tank size

The Mazda CX-90 PHEV offers better fuel efficiency when utilizing its electric range, achieving 56 MPGe

1

. However, once the battery is depleted, its gasoline-only efficiency is lower than the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid. The Toyota consistently achieves 34-36 mpg combined without requiring plug-in charging

3

.For long trips, the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid may be more efficient overall, while the Mazda CX-90 PHEV could be more efficient for shorter trips that can make use of its electric range.
