jokes apart H1B visa has become synonymous with IT folks and Indians; 
if someone comes up with strong data points saying H1B is anything but Highly skilled ante we are lost in that argument. also data proves that highest H1B beneficiaries is Indian Services companies like WITCH which makes case for all the rumble around H1B.

To sum it up, we desi shitzen batch and our Canadian counterparts like @kevinUsa are teaming up with conservative batch to support/bring in some tougher stands against H1b/witch galla abuse. Most are good with bringing in highly skilled people into the country but not “tableau level highly skilled “  that can be done by any stem graduated  local with few months of training . Also we want to have the opportunities to our next generation kids first before importing the cheap work force and taking away their opportunities.
