You might as well walk in with a neon sign that reads, “I aspire to be average.”

 

And let’s not even talk about the disgrace you’ll face when you visit India. Imagine proudly announcing that you’ve purchased a house in the iconic DFW area, only for the next question to be, “Oh, it must be worth over a million dollars, right?” When you sheepishly admit it’s not even close, the respect evaporates faster than a puddle in the Texas sun. Instead of being seen as someone who’s “made it” in the land of opportunity, you’ll be branded as a second-rate dreamer, barely scraping by. People might even start avoiding you, fearing that associating with someone so uninspiring might bring down their own reputation.

 

Honestly, buying a home for less than a million dollars in DFW is like bringing boxed wine to a dinner party where everyone else is sipping vintage Bordeaux. Sure, it technically counts, but don’t expect anyone to be impressed—or even pretend to be polite about
