Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the ‘Fast Track Immigration’ Trusted Traveller Program’ (FTI-TTP), in seven airports.

This fast-track immigration process will make international travel seamless and secure, providing faster immigration clearance through e-gates for registered travelers including pre-verified and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders.

The program will be rolled out at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Ahmedabad airports. The home minister launched the FTI-TTP on June 22, 2024, from Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

To enroll in the program, applicants must complete online registration by filling in their details and uploading the required documents on the portal. Registered travelers must scan their boarding pass at the e-gate, followed by a passport scan. The biometric data of the registered applicants will be captured either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office or while passing through the airport.

At both arrival and departure points, the e-gates will authenticate the passengers’ biometrics, and if it is successful the immigration clearance is done and the e-gate will automatically open. The program is planned to be implemented at 21 major airports across the country soon. The first phase of the program will cover OCI card holders and Indian citizens while the second phase will cover foreign travelers.

The FTI-TTP is similar to the Global Entry Program in the US.
