If that is your aim you might end up working until 60 and decide you need more to spend on your kids and then work until 75.

Eventhough FIRE means Financial Independence Retire Early, dont take it literally.

Most people say FIRE but their focus is mainly on Financial Independence. They will still work on and off or few hours or evven 60 hours a week but on their passion.

I can say that I already FIREd as I dont do much in job. But I spend lot of time on stock market.

I keep prolonging my number. I used to think $750k was enough, later $1M, later $1.5M so on. Honestly you need to find a location to settle down where you can reduce expenses to 4% and you should be good. I am 38 DINK.

DINK is the best way to FIRE early, but unfortunately not an option for most.

If you are to retire in India in the next 5 years, its definitely a min of $1mn. But if you are in the US - that number fluctuates a lot.

The number depends on your location. Wherever you can bring your expenses to 4% of your NW. I am planning to retire by 40, but my wife might keep working.

Problem with US is that even if you have 100 mil, what will you do?

You will get bored and get back to job as walmart greeter 😂

US is a good place to work and earn money...not for retirement.
