Just keep expenses minimal and enjoy till it lasts. Im still planning to have super passive income - Dividends or STR something of that sorts. Quote
Gaali_Gottam_Govinda Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 US is the worst to retire with cost of living...... I don't how any NRI person(With less than $5M retirement savings) would want to retire here without a job...... $10K/month min is required in US to have the same lifestyle of $2K/Month in Hyd. Before 2020 konchem undedi US lo manchi cheap seaside place lo retire avvali ani now the costs are ridiculous..... Poor and middle class Americans are screwed, they will have to work till their last breath to just live 1 Quote
Galactus Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 yeah, I mostly concentrate on the F.I part as I assume that even if I have the F.I I would continue to work in some capacity (may be a chill job like scrum master or some other bokadio job where I don't have to do sh*t) For F.I, it depends on where you want to retire U.S aithe the number could be in millions India aithe I think a decent number to target could be 2M $ for a Tier 1 city like Bengaluru or Hyderabad. Assuming your return is around 4% that will give you around 80k which could be 70 lakhs in Indian rupees and is an awesome amount. Tier 2 or 3 cities aithe it could be much less and you can be chill with < 1M$ in India. Still, I would prefer to do some chill 2-3 hour daily job just to keep my mind active, take vacations and enjoy with family rather than retiring early. I feel we would get bored quickly in a few months if we retire. 2-3 weeks vacations unte ne super boring and repetitive avutundi life so R.E as a concept is fine if you want to explore some hobby or do something else other than IT but doing nothing will probably make you bored eventually Quote

I think if I move to LCOL, $5K/month will be more than enough even without a job. $5K/month is $60k. $60k*25=1.5M. I think $1.5-2M will be more than enough to FIRE. If you want to do a job for insurance, that is optional. Quote

Try TINK. It rocks and the new thing for pookies. Quote
