ChanceCoffeeLover Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 As the title says, how hard or easy is to move to Project Management role without any PM experience. Planning to take PMP certificate exam soon. Will employers take previous s/w experience into consideration or throw away the resume Quote
Aquaman Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 easy to get in to Management role from developemt... previous exp as amanager matters ... get PMP... start within the exsisting company as a junior mnagaer ..easier to get experince that way.. then look outisde after having some exp Now a days ...good companies want engineering managers rather a manager just managing project and team. So, you have to have good technical knoeledge as well, light DSA coding and system design 1 Quote
Aquaman Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 I have seen most desis who are managers, no matter how good they are, dont grow as fast as whites in management side, could be politics or whatever. Seen same in my previous 4 companies once you move to mgmt side, bit hard to come back to full time tech side layoffs unte managers might be first target Quote
