kevinUsa Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 Today this brown skin community will understand the pain of the ‘other’ brown skin. Dreamers were always arguing about how they could return to a place they haven’t seen since birth. Legal or illegal, we were never welcome to this country. Only the labor provided was welcomed. 1) History repeats itself. Read up on how Indians, and Asians in general have been prevented from citizenship in the last 200 years. Then the country needed rebuilding after WW1 and 2, and they opened the gates. Even today, the underlying agenda is prevent the coloring of the country. And they will have it, by EO and SC approvals. 2) To all fellow Indians, treat this country as those who go to Dubai do. Work, earn and return back. 3) Those Indians who have already become citizens, be prepared for the worst racism you have ever seen. You will always remain a small minority and your kids will continue to be bullied and discriminated against while at work. Of course, it will all be subtle, so you can’t really take them to court. 4) Start of Golden Age? Nah! More like the wheels of kalchakra have started to turn on this country. 1 Quote
kevinUsa Posted January 21 Author Report Posted January 21 Anyone who thinks America is not welcoming, is welcome to go try for greener pastures elsewhere. You ARE welcome here - legally. You ARE welcome to be your authentic self in religion, sexuality, opinions, traditions, passions - within the confines of the law and the laws of decency. You are welcome to help make America a better place through being a good addition. Don’t let the laws of supply and demand cloud your judgement, that exists everywhere. As a second generation citizen of immigrant doctor engineer parents, I’ve never faced overt racism, and never more racism than I have anywhere else in my world travels. I’ve faced more judgement and scorn for being an NRI in India, than for being Indian in America. This country is open to all who want to respect it and help it thrive. What’s it’s not open to is being taken advantage of by entitlement. 2 Quote
ARYA Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 one thing abt trump thata...gives content for everyone Quote
Iriswest Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 To my knowledge Indians were never against DACA. They were more interested in DALCA since by principle, legal children should also get deferred action since they left their home country long ago. Trump knows that this EO will be struck down but he is sending stronger and not so subtle message that you are not welcome anymore. This will set a precedent and benchmark for next republican candidates. Get ready for more show for next 4 years. Quote
socrates Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 DACA is much more catastrophic than what Indians are going through this birthright citizenship row DACA kids dont have any connections with their own country and they started families here but majority of Indian NRIs (not all) who came here legally still maintains strong connections with relatives in india, indian culture, indian politics..etc if things fall apart there is still place for you in india unlike DACA Quote

Most of them are not against daca.. many people’s argument is that since they got a path to citizenship, Indians should too.. some social media warriors might have said few things but general perception of Indians is that illegals get more say in the bills than people who are legally here and paying taxes Quote
