Return ticket mandatory for visitor visas?

Indian parents visiting their children in the US were denied entry at Newark Airport for not having return tickets. The couple had travelled on B-1/B-2 visitor visas with plans to stay for five months. However, upon arrival, immigration officials informed them that a return ticket was now mandatory under the new 2025 regulations.

It is more of a discretionary thing. Visitor is a non-immigrant visa. If you do not have a return ticket, aren't you showing immigrant intent? People have always bought round way ticket and modified the date when there is a need.

This - You were always asked to carry your return tickets. No matter what.

Also - This is the norm for all visitor visas. It's not even possible to get a Schengen visa if you don't share your itinerary.

100% yes, all the time.

If you dont have return date - get a refundable ticket for a date 175 days from the time of POE and show that. Lopalaki raagane cancel that off.

That's what I am wondering. You should always book two way ticket for visitor visas. Immigration is only following rules, a bit strictly.
