properties came from government, thats why i am asking sell it for right price

those properties are people money, we cant give it to some industrialists for cheaper price. Thats why politicians are doing this loss propaganda so dont fall far it

Are you aware of the buffer zone ? How much do you quote for buffer zone ? And measure ? Like sft/syd/acre ?

In this scale, almost every company’s land is more valuable than the company’s future and in such a case, Don’t you think its better to sell than to run ?

- the remaining lands are for buffer zones, community development…etc

In the 1970s, Kurupam Zamindars donated 6,000 acres of land for Vizag Steel Plant. A new company Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) was formed on 18 February 1982. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was separated from SAIL and RINL was made the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in April 1982.

Vizag Steel Plant is the only Indian shore-based steel plant and is situated on 33,000 acres (13,000 ha), and is poised to expand to produce up to 20 MT in a single campus. Turnover in 2011-2012 was Rs 14,457 crores.On 20 May 2009, Prime Minister Manmohan Singhlaunched the expansion project of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from a capacity of 3.6 MT to 6.3 MT at a cost of Rs. 8,692 crores.

i dont how much you understand my first reply with news link, but you said “i know it”, and asking the same question again and again 

let me explain again , please read carefully this time 

- RINL plant occupies 20000 acres

- last year December they auctioned just around 6 acres for that they got around 243 crores (thats the basis)

- that means one acre 243/6 = 40 crores

- for your convenience we can say average per acre 20 crors across the plant, that itself 20X19994 =399,880  crores or you want do 10 crores per acre that also leads to 2 lac crores ( this is the reason behind my statement)

- you may ask why that much cost per acre, because its next to shore and its the only plant next to shore/port, very convenient to export and import to other countries like china..etc

- you may ask another question about buffer zone, i clarified that too. Total land is 33000 acres and RINL plant occupies only 20000 acres, so you can leave that rest of the 13000 acres for buffer zone or whatever zone you want. All the math i did is by considering only 20000 acres.

all these are estimates based on  recent land auctions which happened recently december 2024, i am not even adding the machinery costs and goodwill costs or any other miscellaneous costs.

why i am keep mentioning its worth in lacs of crores of land, because there is propaganda to show vizag steel in looses so that it can be given to some corporates for dead cheap price. Saying the worth of the  assets means you have to sell it right away? for example my house worth 1 million should i have to sell it right away? what about the sentiment and feeling of my house? similarly my argument doesn’t mean that plant has to close right away and become a real estate venture.

in my opinion, instead of this additional package center should have done either one these two things

- assign a dedicated iron ore mine, thats the permanent solution (center can do that , it did for others)

- or how andhra bank got merged to union bank, similarly merge the RINL plant with SAIL

finally i dont know why your keep bringing other companies assets in to this (i dont care about other company assets at this time), may be other company assets are more thats fine  (thats not my topic also). But  uniqueness of vizag steel plant is next to the shore and port, that became more eye candy for some corporations. If you are bringing other company assets in this topic i have to bring Gujarath based govt industries  which have even bigger losses and why they are not privatized first place.
