Stampede triggered when devotees came in a large number to take a holy dip in river. Tens of millions gathered at Maha Kumbh Mela to tak a dip in sacred river waters on the most auspicious day of a six-week Hindu festival. At least 30 people were killed and 60 were injured in the stampede. The unofficial reports say the death tolle is more than 40. Some of the dead suffered heart attacks. Bodies were still being brought to the Moti Lal Nehru Medical College hospital morgue, after 12 hours after stampede. The relatives of the stampede victims are queuing up to identify the victims.
