They need F1 students to perform research at schools. The Typical American kid does not even bother studying beyond bachelors due to student debt. Most of them don't even opt for STEM courses. 

The risk is only for H1 and H4 people. Companies will just outsource these jobs citing human resource issues.

Yes bro. People with low ranked universities will not get visas anymore. Only creamy lawyer kids studying at top public universities will survive. At the end of the day, most of the masters with thesis and PhDs are foreign students. They are either from China or India.
