it doesn't matter how they answer questions. Senators make their mind or with powerful lobby or pressure, they lean on a candidate.

just think, there is a discussion about these hearings itself is a big deal even though republicans have full majority. It is possible because senators can vote. independent of party affiliation. In india, we have 0 MPs who do that. They can't even do that with "VIP" -
