Malli start ayindha ?? Recruiters saying no to H1-B

There’s a noticeable trend among some U.S. recruiters who are becoming more reluctant to hire candidates needing H1B sponsorship. One recruiter recently mentioned that they actively steer clear of resumes from applicants who require visa sponsorship. They pointed out that many H1B candidates tend to have inconsistent work histories or have difficulty discussing their roles during interviews. In fact, the recruiter expressed a preference for hiring an American graduate with menial experience over an H1B applicant who might have years of experience listed on their resume. This situation is particularly disheartening for those who have diligently built their careers, only to be overlooked due to their visa status.

The recruiter’s perspective is influenced by a growing skepticism regarding certain H1B applications, especially in light of years filled with false claims and exaggerated resumes. Some applicants, especially international students, have reportedly included fabricated work experience, claiming over seven years of experience when they had none prior to their master’s degree. Unfortunately, this broad generalization is now impacting legitimate H1B applicants. Many skilled professionals with valid work experience are facing unfair rejections due to this bias. While some recruiters may have encountered issues with fraudulent claims in the past, the truth is that many qualified candidates are now under increased scrutiny because of a few dishonest individuals.

In the past, recruiters might have taken these resumes at face value. But now, with all the scrutiny and rising awareness of potential fake experience, many H1B candidates are unfairly grouped together and rejected. It’s a tough pill to swalllow for hardworking professionals who now find themselves caught in the middle of this changing narrative. For these highly skilled professionals, it’s an emotional struggle—after years of hard work, they still find themselves facing closed doors simply because of their visa status. It’s a challenging situation where real experience and talent are being ignored due to rising distrust surrounding the H1B process.

End of the day they need to sign I9 and provide documentation. Failure to submit and comply/faking with forged  documentation will close the bodyshop.

For contracting gigs, I-9 verification is conducted by staffing company , not the client—assuming it is done correctly. They handle the candidate’s actual documentation (such as OPT, EAD, or H1) and manage payroll since the candidate is an employee of the staffing company. This is why falsified Green Cards or citizenship claims typically work for contracting roles but not for full-time (FTE) positions. Every decent company conducts thorough I-9 verification, including the physical verification of authorization documents.
