They will be fine. Except the recent generation of graduates from India, the previous generations are good with fundamentals. The same is with our kids.

Birthright citizenship can  not be retroactive.

i pray and wish all the best for our kids.

I feel bad that, we never stood up against injustice and for right things in our homeland and we can not expect it on a foreign land.

Thank you Anna. I hate to see the hatred towards Indians as a race. They can hate H1Bs. But spewing hatred against whole race is quite scathing and remorseful.

Have you ever heard of 123 agreement? Also didn’t you hear recent threats by Trump regarding BRICS?

Trump threatened brics and India reduced the tariffs imposed on US goods. India has to make decisions as to what suits India's interests.

Tariffs are a complicated thing. The reason Trump imposed tariffs is to address the trade deficit. It might seem to you that the US is the aggressor here, but really that is not the case. Canada imposes tariffs on US goods and expects the US to not tariff Canadian goods because they are a smaller economy and need to protect their manufacturing. But really US looks like the villain here but they are just being fair. Same with Mexico and China. Ideally you want this to boost American manufacturing but I don't see that happening because companies are driven by profits not nationalism.

About the Fed employees, I see first hand the amount of wastage that happens with Federal spending. But for now, it seems like a lot of barking and no action, we have to see what they "actually" do.

are you referring 2018 tariffs? it was retaliation? it was initiated by USA first and later canada retaliated

i would like to address hypocrisy of few people here, Trump abolished WTO mechanisms and launched a trade war, still he is hero

Indian Formers asked the very same thing during formers protest (abolish WTO guidelines ) but those hypocrites said it was huge crime to ask that

if Govt is not spending on governance (Fed operational expenses), is it running a Government or Profit oriented private organization? 🧐

Trade deficit...simply the difference between amount exported and amount imported. Increasing tarrifs will reduce the amount imported into the US, reducing the trade deficit.

strengthening of dollar is main villain of manufacturing sector in USA

Spending is what the US Government does, they are not spending "their" money. They are spending taxpayer money. They have to be responsible with it. At our center, we are not allowed to have any profits. But I can tell you we do not spend your tax money very efficiently. For example, if I have to give contract to a small business owner who is a minority despite quoting a higher bid, I am wasting your taxpayer money. I do not think firing Federal employees is the right move to reduce federal spending. I think the right thing to do will vary from center to center. At our center, I know what needs to be done, but it may not be relevant for other centers. I don't think the Trump administration is going to spend the time to figure out what "actually" needs to be done to reduce federal spending. Simply asking people to come to work, is actually going to cost them more. Although I have an office space, there are several others who do not have an office space, and I think accommodating them in office space will take precedent over other important projects costing more tax money. That is not the right way to reduce federal spending.

nope. it will simply increase the price consumers pay. in a lot of cases those goods may not manufactured in usa . it may  be expensive and time consuming to establish factories, pay workers to make  it in usa. companies may also not find alternative suppliers quickly.

You pay more to buy... you buy less. Eventually, companies import less.

Anna,

name a few things that were contributed to humanity without (direct/indirect) involvement of USA in the last century. America is super power not because of dollar as you think. It’s more than that. Use your high skilled brain.. shall get a clue.

Industrial Revolution started in UK, which US has adopted. All the great inventions in the early years are from Europe, Einstein etc. if dollar dominance is not a concern for US, why is it apprehensive in losing it.

China has a restrictive market to prevent US goods from capturing their market. The US overcome a good amount of trade deficit (~20%) after COVID, and some manufacturers moved back. If the Chinese markets were not so restrictive, the trade deficit will reduce further...but they don't want to do that. Hence the tariffs. Trump ain't stupid. He seems like it, but he isn't.
