I was in India for last three weeks and got back last Sunday. Landed in JFK (Qatar) and the CBP guy I talked to was a negro.

Him: Do you have any other documentation (referring to TN)

Me: No, I gave the entire docket to the at the PoE when I got the status (I was ideally supposed to carry it, everytime but I don't.)

Him: Where did you get it?

Me: Niagara Falls.

Him: You do cross border a lot (looked up my I-94, and he was referring to my travel to Canada)

Me: Yes, I have a lot of folks up there I visit.

Him: Where do you live

Me: answered 

Him: Address?

Me: Answered 

Him: Where do you work?

Me: Answered

That's all. He stamped my passport with an entry  and expiry date (of my TN). NY land border CBP doesn't do it at all.  I was allowed in. Total time was like 5 min.

Mine is a non immigrant visa. Don't know if it will be different for H1 guys.

That is standard ra babu. AP is a USCIS issued document, where is a VISA is state dept issued. CBP officers cannot check AP validity anduke secondary office. Everyone knows that. Adedo crime laaga saava kodtaru
