When I tried to update new passport details in OCI using OCI miscellaneous services, I got below message. Does this mean I need to apply for new OCI card? Sent them email about this but yet to get update. Anyone faced this issue? Your passport updation in OCI has been Rejected. Reason is : RE-APPLY AS THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN PASSPORTS Quote

My son US passport was renewed in Oct 2024 and totally forgot till I saw your post now and started searching, this is what i found "I didn't know about this and got my new passport during COVID, 1-2 years later when I was about to go on a trip I thought about this and found out I had to update it within 3 months of receiving the new passport. So like a good oci holder I did it online and got a mail saying that I will need to pay a fine because I took too long to update it, it was around 8-9k rupees, but I paid it and it got updated in a few days. So I would recommend you do it within 3 months after receiving a new passport to avoid a fine. But I also know many other oci holders who have no clue about this updating of new details, and the seem to be traveling in and out of India just fine" Nee amma uppudu Rs 10K bokka I guess for forgetting to update within 3 months. Even Indian passport renewal chukkalu choopistaru if renewed after expiry. Edo supplement pampali, why you did not renew in time ani. Again this is a Kids passport and they may give some lenience but again open for asking. Tokkalodi VFS tho matladali ante charge chestaru battar gallu 1 Quote

Ledu anna, I think forums lo worst will be reissue of OCI annaru which is $25 but malla documentation submission sh*t untundi annaru. Lot of ppl aiyte travelled with kids old passport, new passport and OCI, did not have any issues and were not even asked old passport annaru. Quote
