Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency employee, whose request for access to U.S. Treasury payment systems was granted by a federal judge on Thursday, had connections to a social media account that was removed and promoted racism and eugenics, The Wall Street Journal reported.

 

Marko Elez, a 25-year-old staffer, resigned on Thursday after the news outlet questioned the White House on his involvement with the account.

 

Who Is Marko Elez?

 

Elez, 25, is a graduate of Rutgers University in 2021. He then worked at SpaceX, Musk's space enterprise, where he specialized in satellite software, vehicle telemetry, and starship software. Elez then started working on search AI at Musk's social media company, X.

 

According to sources, Elez, who has visited a Kansas City office that houses BFS systems, has several administrator-level rights, despite reports that indicate Musk's purported Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) task force has "read-only" access to certain Treasury systems.

 

 

Typically those administrator rights might allow someone to access servers via secure shell access, browse the whole file system, alter user permissions, and remove or alter important data.

 

One person with system expertise claims that "you could do anything with these privileges," adding that they cannot think of a reason why anybody would require them for anything other than identifying fraudulent payments or examining the flow of disbursements.

 

A request for comment was not immediately answered by Elez. Calls for comment were not immediately answered by Musk or the White House, Wired reported.

Though DOGE’s intentions are good, they are making a mistake by hiring these kids who have no idea how these departments work.. it gives an impression that they don’t know what they are doing and every issue in the future will be tied to this… for eg the airline crash was already blamed on doge

This is more or less like the Office space movie where the company hires consultants to cut down costs and fire people.. 

But Musk should have hired better people to do this job… his argument is that bills are being paid even without funding approvals  and that is said to be true..
