Friends,

I live in DFW area and my colonoscopy is not covered by Insurance due to pre existing conditions. Are you guys aware of any facilities that do cheaply without going through Insurance? Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses.

@jpismahatma50+. India is one option. But if you want any follow-ups, it can be an issue.

@GorantlamdhavMy first scan few years came with cancerous polyps and hence my Insurance plan is not covering.

I will check for cash discounts.

I thought some desi docs here may do for cash at a lower cost. Hence checking.

what made you think to go one more scan?. I have fissure problems from early 20s. don't know what is happening in back. Did one like 15 years back and confirmed it is fissure. now once in a while I get sharp painsand stays there for weeks. I put cream to fix it. I might need to go for one more scan.

Once you are diagnosed with cancerous polyps, it is advisable to do colonoscopy every 3 to 5 years. I did have fissure 20 years back which became fistula. So please take care.

Already treated in the past do not come under preexisting conditions! Try complaining to the Insurance Ombudsman. And why did you even declare? Colonoscopy comes under preventative nowadays if doctor refers. Talk to the doctor and make him do it.
