Tejas and Su57 are two different class of aircrafts. Tejas problems are more related to engine and delays from GE, which is a US firm again. 

F35 is a massively over expensive aircraft and it doesn't serve India's aspirations. All American purchases come with lot of clauses, and  you can't use them at will. If you did, US will directly sanction you and halt all after sales support.
