1. The gods did not create the universe – Rig Veda (10:129) “The gods came after the world's creation, so who knows from whence it arose?” If the gods came after creation, then they did not create it.

2. Even Brahma does not know the Supreme – Shiva Purana “I, Brahma, once thought myself to be the Creator of all. But when I reached the limits of the sky, I found no end to the mystery. I do not know the Supreme.” If even the creator god admits he does not know everything, what is beyond him?

3. The gods meditate for wisdom – Bhagavata Purana (11.6.16) “The gods bow in meditation, seeking to understand that which is beyond them.”

4. Time is greater than the gods – Bhagavata Purana (10.87.41) “The cycles of time turn endlessly. Gods are born and gods perish, yet time remains.” The gods are not eternal. Time itself is older, greater, and beyond them.

5. The universe is unknowable – Rig Veda (10:129) “Who truly knows, and who can declare it? Whence was it born, and whence came this creation? The gods came later than this world's formation; so who knows from whence it arose?” Not even the gods know how existence began.

6. Shiva is beyond all gods – Linga Purana “Neither Brahma nor Vishnu could find the beginning nor the end of the infinite pillar of light.” Even the highest gods could not comprehend the true infinite.

7. The gods will die – Shiva Purana “At the end of time, all gods shall be swallowed by the great fire, and only Shiva shall dance in the void.” If the gods perish, then what force governs them?

8. Brahman is unknowable – Brihadaranyaka Upanishad (3.9.26) “He who says ‘I know Brahman’ does not know Brahman. He who says ‘I do not know Brahman’ may know It.” Even the highest reality cannot be fully understood—not by men, not by gods.

9. The gods are bound to the illusion of the world – Yoga Vasishtha “This world is a long dream, appearing real to those who sleep within it. None can say where it begins, nor when the dreamer shall awaken.” If reality itself is a dream, then the gods are part of the dream as well.
