Former IT HR professional nabbed for running fake hiring firm in Madhapur

A former HR professional in the IT sector was nabbed by Central Zone Task Force of Hyderabad for allegedly cheating job aspirants by setting up a fake software hiring company in Madhapur. The accused Kaluva Bharghav, 34, lured multiple candidates with false job promises and collected large sums of money before shutting down operations and disappearing with the funds, said the police.

Bharghav had established a fraudulent firm named ‘Neogen Soft Tech Solutions’ in Hitech City, Madhapur. “He set up a corporate-style office, listed the company online to appear legitimate, and even engaged a few employees to make the operation seem authentic. Using his prior experience in HR, he sourced resumes from coaching consultancies and contacted job seekers via email,” explained the police.

He conducted online interviews, posing as an HR manager, and charged candidates between ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh for guaranteed placements. After issuing fake offer letters, appointment orders, and company ID cards, he abruptly shut down the office and vanished.

Police further revealed that Bharghav, a resident of Chintal, has an M.Tech degree and previously worked with multiple IT firms, which helped him understand the hiring process. His fraudulent activities led to cases being registered against him at Lallaguda, Jeedimetla, Madhapur, and Kalwakurthy police stations. Upon receiving credible information, the Central Zone Task Force apprehended Bharghav on February 16 and seized ₹1 lakh in cash, fake appointment letters, forged ID cards, and two mobile phones.

He has been handed over to the Lallaguda police station for further legal proceedings.
