Actually indian masses benefitted a lot from USAID. Though majority of the fund was used to provide food to poor following are some projects;

USAID has played an important role in India, including:

  • Establishing eight agricultural universities with world-class agricultural research capacity;
  • Establishing the first Indian Institute of Technology and 14 regional engineering colleges;
  • Supporting capital market development to improve administration and price transparency on the stock exchanges;
  • Launching the first municipal bond in the region for water supply and sanitation infrastructure development;
  • Launching the "green building" movement in India -- catalyzing over 1.2 billion square feet of LEED-registered green building space in the country; and
  • Strengthening India’s national programs on immunization, family planning, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and polio.

maree open gaa annee dochukoleru and mosam cheyyaleru kada bayya..so obviously they do some help too..doesn't mean whatever they are doing is in good and in our best interest..

For e.g. do you really think they should have Indian National health data? Do you think our policies should be based on their reports?

Also, in the above mentioned have double clicked into these and know who else are the partners in funding..who decides curriculams? who owns the research data coming out of these colleges? do you know they can grant only studies that benefit them or that can go against India's national interest?

30-40 years back okappaudu adukkunte i can understand, inkaa ee time lo kooda..why should we still be begging for these money..Why can't we do this ourselves, even if we are taking help, Our govt should be leading the efforts, making decisions and owning the data..

above mentioned kaakundaa..rest of the money inka enni places ki veltondi..how many political parties are getting backdoor funding..how many religious institutions are getting these money..adi kooda list veyyali kada mari..one side of the coin choopistanu ante ela..

It’s a typical aid. Aid comes with some vested interests. In many countries, American aid and cultural promotions act as a front and acceptable face…

India has provided with aid to Afghan, Do you really think the aid is being used to the purpose ? It is being used as a propaganda tool to soften the image, act as a front office for Indian interests, or may even used as a hideout for undocumented interests.

They have their own vested intrests. Funding agencies recommend some policy changes before approving any funding. This is true with USAID or any org giving free money or loan. Yes most of the funds went to organizations like mother theresa missions or like missions for providing benefits to lower sections by product is conversions.

For example smart electric meters, JICA recommended installing smart meters as part of their loan approval process to discoms. Likewise many things happen.

India fund projects in countries like mozambique to protect business and strategic intrest in the area.

Its all about money, if you want money play to their tunes.
