toranam Posted February 24 Report Posted February 24 Post lifted from expats Hi All, I wanted to share a recent incident I encountered at SFO airport. I live in DC area and work for a very big tech company based out of Bay Area. From past 3 years I travel to office , once every year around this time, for 1 week duration. So this year too, I travelled last week, and was returning yesterday. I went through the usual security check, removing shoe , emptying pockets, mobile (work and personal) and laptop in the bins, so immediately after the body scanner, when I was about to walk towards my bin, the security guy who was at the body scanner started asking me questions like an immigration officer, what do you do? Which company?job duties? Purpose of visit, how long visit etc. and was asked to give my phone which he took some where for a check and came back 5 minutes later. I was stunned by these events, but remained calm. I have been in US for 10 years and travelled a lot domestically and was never asked questions by a security guy. Is it something new that started? Did anyone face similar situation? Quote
