CPI(M) State secretary V. Srinivasa Rao, in a release on Sunday (February 23), said that for the past few days, the unemployed candidates have been protesting, demanding that the Group-2 Mains exams be postponed and the mistakes in the roster points be corrected.

Instead of resolving the issue through discussions, the government was indulging in propaganda against coaching centres and the unemployed protestors, which was reprehensible. The government’s act of leaking information, suggesting a readiness to postpone the exams, thus misleading the unemployed for political gain, was malicious. It seemed that the government intended to drag the recruitment process into legal disputes to halt it. The postponement of the Mega DSC exams also strengthened this suspicion, he said.

“The CPI(M) demands that the government immediately hold discussions with the unemployed to correct the mistakes made in the roster system. The government should not be obsessed with its reputation and should resolve this issue by consulting legal experts, educators and intellectuals,” he said.
