Canada lo April nunchi retaliatory tariffs, more carbon tax plus mortgage renewals means Canadians and immigrants are ready for a financial gang rape. Modi Tatah started bending already want to ease lot of existing tariffs in India. Trump may likely force Modi Tatah to open poultry and dairy markets too. Politically it will be bad for Modi Tatah, but have to see how Tatah deals with another Tatah. Quote

Wholesale prices are different https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_chicken_wholesale_price_georgia_dock US poultry and dairy are way more industrialized and have tonnes of stock in cold storage all the time. For e.g., Chicken legs are very less consumed in the US. If US suppliers decide to make money by dumping that stock in India at a discounted price, that will crash Indian poultry market. Same with dairy. Cooperative societies and local dairy will crash. Don't know how much Modi Tatah can resist. Quote

CanadianMalodu Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 9 hours ago, Pavanonline said: wholesale konchem cheap undi but crashing difference em ledu https://www.hyperpure.com/ind/hyderabad(t)/whole-chicken Wholesale chicken price is only half part of the story. Breasts and wings are consumed within the US usually. Read my post again. I specifically talked of dumping legs. You're ignoring the price of legs (called leg quarters in the US) that is even more cheaper. The wholesale prices of a kilo is less than a dollar. https://www.barchart.com/cmdty/data/fundamental/explore/UD1U305D.CS I don't know if you're aware but US cold storages have thousands of tonnes of these chicken quarters. If India were to reduce duties, then they can simply dump most of that stock at even discounted price. Say sell one kilo of quarters/leg pieces at 85 rupees or so in tonnes. Doing so will save them storage costs and gives them a chance of recovering monies easy peasy. Indian poultry can't compete with that kind of insane price. Quote
