He is telling his voters, we are not giving away billions just for free, but we are getting something in return (It was a poll promise and these free billions given to Ukraine did help him get elected). Also, Trump suggestion in giving land for minerals is advantageous to Ukraine . Let's not kid ourselves, Russia is invading Ukraine for the very same minerals which are rich in Lithium and Titanium. Ceding some of that land under USA control will deter Russia from advancing, as USA has a direct cause to enter the war if it feels Russia is prying on its legal territory . Russia wouldn't dare do that after Ukraine Mickey Mouse army keeping them at bay so far (imagine what would USA do) ..Zelensky miscalculated at this point of time given that he got everything from Biden so far. And Russian raise is also not good for China as they share long boarder and have issues. What world potrays and what Chinese mentality is completly different. Visit China or spend sometime there, you will undestand. And I watched interviews of some HK people and leaders like Lee Kuan Yew (Singapore founding father). Ukraine had ICBM and they thought about keeping them.....but they gave up because creating infrastructure to maintain them would lead Ukraine into deep depression. US didn't give guarantee. Budapest agreement wasn't legally binding. Even if it was, Ukraine had terrible corruption and its constitution was nullified. So the Ukraine now is not the Ukraine that signed the agreement. Quote
