Your simple question of why UK and France will not do anything is negated by ICBMs. Even conventional weapons kooda UK and France put together combined can't stand Russia. They don't have power projection capabilities to take on Russia. Russia won the Ukraine's territory. France and UK could do nothing about it. They still can't do anything

Unfortunately Russian military is not the same as the erstwhile military of USSR. Some of the talent and defence infrastructure that was in former soviet republics other than Russia ( Ukraine, Kazhakastan etc) is permanently gone after USSR disintegrated.

The former military bases in Baltic states is now under NATO control.

The defence industry in Ukraine is now gone . ( Antanov transport aircraft was made  in Ukraine)

 Russian navy doesn’t even have a single working aircraft carrier. They are unable to produce Su-57 in quantity needed for their own airforce because of sanctions

Russia keeps the land and by that metric it won. It's as simple as that. They managed to do that even with NATO military regulars being sent to Ukraine as military advisors and volunteers for oversight. 

What qualitative difference in equipment are you referring to? What equipment are you talking about?  If Russians are struggling why did Ukraine not take back their territory? 

Russia is an independent country in a true sense. They can build up and scale up military very rapidly. They grow food for all their needs. They have their own oil. Current day Russia with territory taken back from Ukraine will constitute 75% of former USSR. Their history is to fight a war of attrition with rations. GDP is not going help much in such survival scenarios. Western Europeans will scream and give up if they were to ensure half the hardships. 

It all comes to US participation. EU is an energy deficient debt ridden continent as a whole. They don't even have colonies to engage man power now.

Yes. Norway is rich becoz of Oil selling. Denmark model is high salaries purely based on successful companies, well paid social welfare. Sweden and FInland rich becoz of mineral and other natural resources export. Nordic countries pretty well run countries with very very low corruption. so they are continuing rich.
