What about China which occupied Aksai Chin? Minerally rich and strategically very important for Indian defence.

 

I read some articles about the pain Nehru had to go through because of this war and the loss of the land. It took toll on his health and died within next two years of the war. I also blame Nehru for trusting the Chinese blindly and inviting Dalai Lama at the same.

US-Russia were engaged in the cold war and Cuban missle crisis. China took that as the right time and India ws underprepared. There was no chance to deter the China. Nehur finally requested US help and the US came forward. And all European countries, espcially the UK supported the Indian position (claim on Aksai Chin). By that time, China declared they won the war and withdrew the troops from some parts of occupied lands, but kept the Aksai Chin with them.

China's aggression and the India's loss in the war and the land is what goads me to support Ukraine. China aggressor with authoritarian ruling, same as present Russia. India democratic country same as Ukraine. People should understand that the current Russia and USSR are not the same. USSR was Indian's friend.

Yeah, my grandfather told me about this. Apparently it was brutal. India had no chance. The Chinese literally killed Indian soldiers like a bunch of mosquitoes. Our Indian history books never go into detail about this, because it does not make us look. It was a completely one-sided war. In 2025, it will be way worse if we ever need to face China again.

Thats why we need to wait it out.

Chinese are getting older and fertility rate is low.

Yeah, they should teach us these in the school and the reason for our loss. The failures keep us grounded and in reality. I see so many people have false pride. Chine lost to Mongols, opium wars, Japanese war, Boxer rebellion, they knew. Same with Japan after Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Their socities took completly different route and made them strong.

Even in next 100 years, its impossible to fight Chinese. They have huge barren land between our populated cities and their populated cities. Its a big advantge to them.

India is a neutral country and it's policies are largely largely unharmful to any country. So, any country attacking India, doesn't make any sense.

In case of Ukraine, it wants free EU money and so wants to join EU and also Nato, which Russia considers dangerous as Nato forces comes to their door step. Ukraine foreign policy is dangerous to Russia. Incase of India, its foreign policies are not dangerous to anyone.

NATO forces are already at Russia's doorstep. 

Before the war Russia shared borders with NATO countries of Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, USA ( Alaska), Poland ( Kaliningrad)

After Russia invaded Ukraine two more countries that share  border with Russia - Finland and Sweeden joined NATO effectively doubling the length of borders between Russia and NATO countries .

Putin is using NATO as a ruse to occupy ukraine.

First it was about neo nazis in ukraine 

Then they said it's to demilitarize Ukraine 

Then they said it's about bio weapons labs in Ukraine funded by USA

And now they say it's about NATO.

Enough of those lies.

Putin is a dictator and he has this grand vision of recreating Russian Empire. He thought he could conquer Ukraine in a week. But Ukrainian people resisted this invasion even though they were under armed compared to Russia.

Their desire to live in a free democracy and not under occupation from a dictator is what keeps them from resisting this invasion.

You will  also join army and fight  if your homeland is small democratic country and  was invaded by a dictatorship that's much stronger than your country

True.

Russia can't stop finland and Sweden from joining Nato. Russia considers Ukraine as their brotherly country as they were part of USSR and wants it to stay neutral. If ukraine joins nato, the nato border to russia becomes much bigger than finland and Ukraine that too near the economically stronger central regions.Finland and Sweden maintain a bit of neutrality and dont care about money and also the border with Russia is economically less significant north. In case of Ukraine, if someone gives them free money, they are ready to do anything.

Ukrainians interest is only free money.

There are lot of adjacent former USSR countries like Belarus, kazak, maldova. Its very easy to do war with kazak and occupy it. Why do you think, putin wants to occupy ukraine and not Kazakh or some other insignifant former ussr country.

Trump asked back the money US already spent, that too providing  a sense of security guarantee. But zelensky skipped away that too while threatening US that Russia will take over them if they doesn't have a ocean. No sane person will accept his behaviour except those UK and france leaders who lost support in their countries and wants to put up some show.

That is true.

You need to have young population for innovation and to generate the dough to buy/make all that.
