Rest of the world should impose tariffs on the profits the tech companies are making from non-US countries. This is huge money.

For example, Netflix, Google, Meta, Amazon etc make earn billions in India. But they don't pay any tax in India. This is one primary reason why China has developed their own version of Google, Amazon, Meta etc.

You didn't understand my post. I was not talking about the profits they make by sending the jobs to India. I was talking about the profits they make out of Indian consumer base and killing the Indian version of Netflix/FB etc coming up. This is exactly what China realized and banned them. China has been successful, why can't we? Those companies have been making billions from the Indian consumer base.

If they really have the competent educated people, why do you think they send those jobs to India? The US doesn't have the needed tech people, thats why they send those jobs to India to make profits using the cheap labour.

Only cheap labor uncle.. US lo tech people unnaru .. with AI US will easily survive without India.. and with new Indian kids Graduating dependency on India will be less.. except cheap labor

Yeah..there you go. They will use AI anyway. They don't send their jobs to India out of pity for us. It is just economically good for them. My statement was not about the jobs. It was about the consumer base. As @enigmatic mentioned in his above post, do we have fb/instagram/twitter/azure/aws/Google etc? China has version of each of those services in their country.  Those are multi trillion companies because of world wide consumer base. Thats how the US make money. Now they are increasing tariffs on what we produce (manufacturing/farm goods). And they don't pay anything on the profits out of our consumber base. Its unfair.
