Sritej was admitted to the hospital’s emergency room on the night of December 4, 2024, in a semi-conscious state with low oxygen saturation and irregular breathing. Doctors were forced to intubate and place him on ventilator support. He remained on a ventilator for nearly two weeks and was later placed on a nasogastric feeding regimen. According to KIMS Hospital, the child is now taking oral feeds and no longer requires oxygen or respiratory support. “Sritej is being discharged to a neurorehabilitation centre for continued neurorehab services,” the hospital said. He has been shifted to the Asian Transcare Rehabilitation Centre in Secunderabad, which is affiliated with KIMS. Hospital authorities said this would allow for seamless coordination between doctors involved in his ongoing treatment. In the weeks following his hospitalisation, Sritej received visits from prominent personalities including BRS MLA T. Harish Rao, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, and actor Allu Arjun, who visited the child nearly a month after the incident. Allu Arjun had even sought special police permission to visit Sritej at the hospital. Quote
