Modern times are not different. Entire public lives are intertwined with religion. History was replete with such examples. Bolsheviks had absolute power and tried to erase Christianity. Ethnic Christians were starved, sentenced to slavery in gulags but it didn't work. It rebounded multifold stronger later. Now look at Orthodox Church of Russia.

Communists tried to do the same in India too. but people have an inherent internal monologue that pushes them to embrace it even harder. On one side you see likes of Stalin blabbering erasing Satana Dharma, but see crowds who poured in record numbers in Kumbh.

That’s what i am asking. Since it’s free to change and no one asking questions. People like Jagun can go to Tirumala without declaration and we are watching. Why he didn’t declare as Christian religion? Pk did for his wife and kids just example

uncle earth is billion years old, religion ane concept existed for may be 10,000 years.

So no one knows if any of these religions are even true.
