Religion doesn't allow for free thought. They doesn't allow to question validity or criticise the idea of GOD. They use fear of GOD as a weapon to control others. 1 Quote

Last I checked, we don’t live in the ancient or medieval times anymore Modern times are not different. Entire public lives are intertwined with religion. History was replete with such examples. Bolsheviks had absolute power and tried to erase Christianity. Ethnic Christians were starved, sentenced to slavery in gulags but it didn't work. It rebounded multifold stronger later. Now look at Orthodox Church of Russia. Communists tried to do the same in India too. but people have an inherent internal monologue that pushes them to embrace it even harder. On one side you see likes of Stalin blabbering erasing Satana Dharma, but see crowds who poured in record numbers in Kumbh. 1 Quote

I wish to see them go extinct in my lifetime That’s when mankind will cease to exist. There needs to be some order to be present above everything to be able to live in an organized society and religions are the one that are responsible for civilization…They will change their form but will be present till the end.. rational Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 23 minutes ago, DonnyStrumpet said: I can write pages. But in essence, it is worshiping nature. Vayu, Varun, Agni, bhoomi, Akasam and sun... Trying to stay in sync with nature by worshiping and praying. It includes being in sync with other living organisms, too. Hence non violence is considered as the the core tenet of Hinduism. People who obliged this to a greater extent are brahmins. Whereas others feasted on other sentile living organisms. That's where hierarchy originated. All Puranic gods are just ad hoc avatars to resolve some problems humans encountered at that particular point of time. If non violence is the core tenet of Hinduism, why did krishna ask Arjun to kill, couldnt he find other way. Quote
